A compact recording studio in Amsterdam-West built around playing together, controlled listening and clear agreements.
Why we built this studio
Nanigolixar opened in 2019 with a simple idea: a lot of music sounds most honest when everyone is in the same room at once, with an engineer listening rather than only pushing buttons. That is why the live room sits at the centre and the control room looks straight into it.
We do not rotate freelance engineers per session. Linde van der Berg coordinates production; Thijs Bakker leads recording and mix; Noor de Vries schedules sessions and podcast days. Whoever writes your quote often sets your mic as well.
The rooms
Live room — 45 m²
Wood floor, gobos and diffusion for drums, bass amp and guitar. Up to 8 people with pre-agreed headphone mixes.
Iso booths — 2
Isolated booths for vocals, rap, voice-over and backing vocals, with sight lines to the control room.
Control room
Symmetrical monitoring, 32 faders and 24 mic inputs. We also mix projects recorded elsewhere here.
Workflow and quality
Every session starts with a short check: tempo, references, desired file structure. We set gain staging and headphone mixes before take one. For mix and master we listen on several monitors and log revisions in writing — up to 2 rounds per agreement.

Tram 13 and bus 22 stop at Haarlemmerplein; from there it is about a six-minute walk along Haarlemmerweg. From Amsterdam Centraal station it is roughly a twelve-minute walk toward Westerpark. Limited on-street parking; bicycle racks in front of the entrance.
Hours: Monday–Friday 09:00–23:00, Saturday 10:00–20:00, Sunday closed (night sessions on request).. Book via Contact or call 020 785 42 16.
