Voice-over

Spoken copy sounds authoritative in our booth — with an engineer listening for articulation, breath and pace so you spend less time fixing words in edit.

Voice-over narrator reading script at microphone in booth

Voice-over needs different mic choices than singing: less room, more focus on consonants and steady distance to the capsule. Nanigolixar records commercials, e-learning modules, internal corporate videos, IVR prompts and audiobook sample chapters in one of our 2 iso booths.

You read from paper, tablet or your own teleprompter — we supply a music stand and calm lighting. Book via contact; for sung performances, vocal recording is the better fit. Rates below include 21% VAT unless a business agreement says otherwise.

Project types

Radio and online spots, explainer videos, museum audio, app onboarding, staff training and short fiction narration — when one voice carries the message. Multiple roles in one session use an extra mic or booth swap; more than three characters is planned as a longer day.

Full-length audiobooks run in blocks; a sample chapter often fits the project fee (€275) up to two hours. Longer titles get a custom quote with chunk scheduling.

How this differs from vocal recording

Vocal sessions chase musical performance; voice-over prioritises clarity and brand tone. We often use a dynamic or broadcast condenser close in, sometimes with gentle high-pass and de-ess — never as a gimmick.

If copy must sound sung, say so at intake. Mixing music under voice can follow as a separate job; mastering when you need broadcast loudness targets.

Script and pronunciation

Supply text as PDF or Word without hidden formatting. Mark abbreviations, brand names and foreign words phonetically. Multilingual spots: separate sessions per language keep levels even.

  • Count words for timed spots; thirty seconds is roughly eighty to ninety Dutch words depending on pace.
  • We do not supply external voice actors — you or your client reads.
  • Script changes after recording are new takes, not free revisions.

You clear script rights with your client; see session rights for co-productions.

In the booth

The booth is dry enough for tight edits with sight lines to the engineer. You hear yourself in headphones; heavy reverb hurts e-learning clarity. Stand or sit — we adjust mic height.

Minimum age 16 for solo sessions. Younger voices need a parent or guardian present and written consent per terms and conditions.

Files and naming

Default 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz, mono or stereo as needed. Some broadcast chains want 44.1 kHz — state that upfront. MP3 only as an extra copy, not as master.

Filenames like CLIENT_SPOT30_EN_V1.wav follow your convention. Secure download; backup kept 12 months then removed per privacy policy. Platform format overlap is covered in audio formats guide.

FAQ

Can I record several spots within two hours?

When scripts are final and short, often yes — three to five small spots or one longer e-learning module. We confirm in the quote.

Do you supply music beds?

No. We can monitor your guide track. Mixing music is mix work or your editor’s job.

Are commercial rights included?

The studio fee covers recording and technical delivery. Usage and buy-out sit in your contract with the talent or agency; terms describe our deliverables.

Can I bring a director?

Yes, one or two people in the control room. Larger groups need prior agreement because of booth size and focus.

English and Dutch in one session?

Prefer separate blocks per language so tone does not blur. Both languages in one day work with a break between sessions.
