Podcast recording

Hosts talk naturally at the table while an engineer keeps levels stable and you hear how episodes will sound — without touching the faders yourself.

Two podcast hosts with mics at round table in studio

Podcast audio has to stay clear on a commute, a laptop or a small Bluetooth speaker. Our setup uses broadcast mics, individual headphone mixes and an engineer listening so level gaps between hosts do not only show up in edit.

Nanigolixar on Haarlemmerweg 247 serves interview shows, news formats, company podcasts and narrative series. You record in a treated room; up to 8 people fit when we plan the layout in advance. File format questions? See podcast audio formats or email [email protected].

Podcasts we record

Interview shows with guests, co-hosted formats, internal company updates, educational series and fiction with narration — as long as spoken word is central. We do not run live YouTube or Twitch production from this room; we deliver audio you can feed there later.

Teams from Amsterdam often cycle in; directions are on contact. Remote guests may join from a laptop when tested beforehand; pure remote capture via Riverside is not our default, but we discuss workarounds at intake.

Room and gear

The podcast table sits in a treated zone within our 3 rooms. 24 mic inputs on the console cover two hosts, a guest and a side mic for demos. Monitoring uses closed-back headphones to limit bleed.

Noor de Vries handles scheduling and podcast production; she helps decide half-day batch blocks versus hourly bookings. Longer days fit within Monday–Friday 09:00–23:00, Saturday 10:00–20:00, Sunday closed (night sessions on request). or by arrangement outside those hours.

Prep for hosts

Bring an outline on paper or tablet, not rustling sheets by the capsule. Silence phone ringtones in the room. Water between takes; avoid loud snacks at the table.

  • Send intro/outro music ahead if you want it played in session (not recorded unless agreed).
  • State who leads each segment so we can plan muting.
  • Schedule breaks — an hour non-stop tires voices and skews levels.

Sample rate and mono/stereo choices are explained in our format guide.

During the session

The engineer sits in the control room behind glass or beside the table, depending on layout. We mark retakes on request but do not live-edit unless you want a radio-style workflow. Guests get the same headphone mix as hosts.

Our ceiling is 8 people in the building including crew; larger panels split across sessions or layouts. Minimum participant age 16 unless a parent or guardian books in writing.

What you receive

By default each speaker gets a 24-bit 48 kHz WAV plus a stereo mixdown for quick review. MP3 for hosting on request. Filenames follow your episode numbering when you supply it.

Editing, noise reduction, intro music mixing and Spotify loudness mastering are outside the recording fee — we can refer editors or outsource by agreement. Loudness notes live in the format guide. Archive: 12 months, then deletion per privacy policy.

FAQ

How many episodes fit in four hours?

Depends on length and retakes. A tight thirty-minute interview with one redo per segment often fits two to three hours; batch days are planned upfront with Noor.

Can we bring video?

We focus on audio. Cameras are welcome if silent and fan-free; sync to video is your edit. No video lighting package included.

Do you edit episodes?

Not by default. We can suggest editors or deliver raw material. Format advice is in the guide.

Can we eat while recording?

Water and quiet coffee are fine. Food at the table causes mic rattle; take meal breaks outside the room.

What if a host is ill?

Notice at least 5 days ahead moves the slot free of charge. Later changes follow terms on rescheduling or deposit handling.
